They lied to me and now I cant get a car loan!

Back in August of 2005 I filed for bankruptcy and had a car loan for a used car that was falling apart and did not want anymore and asked for there legal advice. I did not want a repossession on my credit but wanted to get rid of my car, so I asked if I should continue to pay it off or add it to my bankruptcy. I was told to put it on my bankruptcy and it will not show as a repo on my credit report. Well guess what, 3 years later i'm trying to buy a car and have a voluntary surrender (same as repossession!) on my credit and the company I did the loan through is still reporting to the creditors! I can't get a car loan because of $1700!!! Obviosly I would have paid that off if I knew this was going to happen but the lawyers at Westfall Lagal Services told me not to! "why give them your money?" They said. "just add it to your bankruptcy, it wont show up as a repo on your credit" Yeah right!!!! Dont trust them!!!
